CanalDitch

An artificial open waterway constructed to transport water, to irrigate or drain land, to connect two or more bodies of water, or to serve as a waterway for watercraft. CanalDitch also exists as an NHDArea. May be a named feature.

Canals oftentimes have an engineered appearance. While bidirectional  flow is common in Canals and some other natural features,

this type of flow is not modeled in the NHD.
