Area of Complex Channels

An area where a stream or river flows in an intricate network of sediment-driven interlacing channels. Not named features.

Areas of Complex Channels are common in Alaska where glacial till is available and there is a steep slope (photo by Kenton Curtis). They are also common in low lying, sedimentary coastal regions of the southeastern and Gulf Coast states.
